The Ministry of Internal Affairs sent additional circulars on Covid-19 Measures to 81 Provincial Governorships. Within the scope of the circular, restrictions were imposed on activities such as weddings (including getting a bride, henna, etc.), engagement, circumcision feast, etc.
In the circular sent by the Ministry of Interior to the governorships: “As it is known, in order to manage the risk of the coronavirus epidemic in terms of public health and public order, to ensure social isolation, to protect the physical distance and to control the spread of the disease, the recommendations of the Ministry of Health and the Coronavirus Scientific Committee are implemented by taking many precautionary decisions with the instructions of our President Erdogan.
In this context, with our Circular dated 24.06.2020 and numbered 10116; it had been stated that weddings (including getting a bride, henna, etc.), engagement, circumcision feast, etc., had to hold as soon as possible in all provinces due to the rate of spread of the epidemic in crowded environments.
With our Circular dated 07.07.2020 and numbered 10888, it was requested that the time limitations of the said activities held in villages and / or streets will be determined by the provincial / district hygiene boards and the time limit of this events has to be in the same day. With our Circular dated 25.08.2020 and numbered 13677, weddings, engagement, henna night, circumcision in 14 provinces (Adana, Agrı, Ankara, Bursa, Corum, Diyarbakır, Erzurum, Gaziantep, Kayseri, Konya, Mardin, Sanlıurfa, Van and Yozgat) various restrictions were imposed on events.
At this point, due to the insufficient compliance with the measures taken, especially the physical distance rule, the increase of the spread rate of the disease and the risk of public health; it was evaluated that the following decisions about wedding,engagement, circumcision feast ,henna and events that citizens gather crowdedly should be taken by our Governorates according to recommendation taken at the meeting of the Ministry of Health Coronavirus Scientific Board on 02.09.2020 and the instructions of our President Erdogan.
In this context, to be implemented in our 81 provinces;
1.Street / village wedding, circumcision feast, henna night, engagement etc. events are not allowed,
2.However,the weddings and marriages that can be held in the form of a wedding ceremony are completed within a maximum of 1 hour,
3.In the wedding halls where the wedding or marriages will be held in the form of a wedding ceremony, the chair / seat arrangement should be organized in accordance with the physical distance conditions and to cover the dance / game floor / areas,
4.It is not allowed to play / dance in weddings and marriages that will be held in the form of wedding ceremonies, and to serve / offer all kinds of food and drink (except packaged water service), including collective meals,
5. Our citizens aged 65 and over and children under the age of 15 who are not first and second degree relatives of the bride and groom are prohibited from attending wedding ceremonies,6.In wedding ceremonies ,it has to be ensured that at least one public official(law enforcement,police etc.) is assigned to make an inspection,7. In addition to cleaning, mask and distance rules, which are the basic principles of the controlled social life period we are in, in weddings and marriages in the form of wedding ceremonies, matters of this circular have to be done completely in addition to all rules and measures in the Ministry of Health Covid19 Epidemic Management and Working Guide,
For this purpose, it has been decided to take the necessary decisions in accordance with Articles 27 and 72 of the General Health Law by our Governorships immediately and to start their implementation as of 04.09.2020 at the latest.’’ views are included.
