SUPPORT TO OUR CHAMBERíS PROJECT FROM BAKA Print E-mail

Our Chamber’s Project İs Entitled With Receiving Support From Baka.

The project called  ‘’Responsible Tourism, Trouble-free Future’’ , which was prepared and presented for Evaluation of the Tourism Potential Financial Support Program Year 2011 Call for Proposal, instituted by West Mediterranean Development Agency (BAKA), is entitled to receive a grant. The butget of the project which is supported by Baka is 156.894,60 TL, 80% of which will be financed as a grant support by BAKA.

Within the scope of Financial Support Program of Year 2011, 160 project applications from Antalya, 60 from Burdur and 80 from Isparta, in total 300 project applications were submitted to BAKA. Within the scope of Financial Support Program on Improving R&D and Innovativeness, 160 project applications were made. 28 of this applications were from state institutions and organizations, and 121 of them were from SMEs. Within the scope of Financial Support Program on Development of Agriculture-Oriented Industry, total 75 applications were made 18 of which is from state institutions and organizations and 57 as SME project.  Within the scope of Financial Support Program on Evaluation of Tourism Potential, which aims for diversification of the tourism products with alternative tourism activies, and extending the season to 12 months also for promoting the environment-friendly tourism activities, 44 project applications from state institutions and organizations, 32 from SMEs, 76 project application in total were made.

ALTSO President Kerim Aydoğan remarked on the importance they attach to submitting projects to grant calls made by the Chamber, EU and BAKA, and that they also attached importance to their being funded by grant funds, and that they are were hear to glad that another project within this scope has been entitled to receive a grant.

He said that they are very glad to receive grant for another project beside their running project and remarked that a very important work will be carried out as to the maintenance of Alanya tourism destination with the new project.

With this project , which is prepared for contribution to the priority of promoting the activities of the touristic establishments by improving their environment-friendly production and service capacities, improving the competencies of the facilities by applying Travellife system criteria which is a sustainable tourism management system at accomodation facilities in Alanya region, gaining revenue growth per bed and gaining tourism income growth by reducing resource consumption and providing efficiency as a result of trainings, are aimed.

Providing regional brandization at national and international scale by evaluation of the tourism potential  in line with the sustainability approach in TR61 Level 2 Region, and improving the competency of accomodation facilities and Alanya destination are aimed, by achieving this goal.

Within the scope of this project, one of the participants of which is Akdeniz University, Alanya Faculty of Business Administration, trainings of the hotel associations and touristic facilities as to giving environment-friendly service and maintenance of the tourism will be conducted, also 30 facilities will be selected for being prepared in line with  Travelife system criteria and for receiving Traveline Certificate.
Training, consultancy and certification service will be acquired from Travelife Ltd, center of which is in England, for training and certification process regarding Travelife System, which is a product of another EU project, with cooperation of English Travel Associations and Associacions of Tour Operators in England.

During the project which will be carried out for 8 months all sector representatives in our district will be informed as to how the sustainable tourism quality management system will affect their sectors; brochures that inform about the tourism quality management system will be issued to 611 accommodation facilities; briefings will be made with hotel associations; Necessity Analysis Survey for Travelife System will be issued to the Hotels, average 3 days of training per hotel will be given at 30 hotels. 900 personnel will be able to take this training; 10 hotels will be entitled to take Travelife Certificate during project period.
