After the earthquake disaster, the epicenter of which was in Kahramanmaraş and which caused almost destruction and loss of life in the whole region, AFAD Organization, Alanya District Governorship, Alanya Municipality, ALTSO and other non-governmental organizations started to work in cooperation. President Erdem stated that they, as ALTSO, will provide the necessary support to the works to complete the list of needs determined by AFAD, and that they are ready to evaluate a possible request to meet the shelter needs of the earthquake victims.
President Eray Erdem called the ALTSO Board of Directors to an extraordinary meeting after attending an emergency meeting chaired by Alanya District Governor Dr Fatih Ürkmezer.
After the ALTSO Board of Directors Meeting, President Erdem met with the members of the 10th and 24th Committees, where the hotel and apart-hotel sector is represented. Eray Erdem, “After our board meeting, we came together with our hotel and apart-hotel representatives and made a situation assessment. In case of a request from AFAD, we agreed to provide shelter support for our citizens affected by the earthquake. In this disaster, which caused great destruction and loss of life in approximately 10 provinces, we also support the works carried out under the roof of AFAD throughout the country in Alanya, in order to meet the needs of our earthquake victims. Under the chairmanship of our District Governor Dr Fatih Ürkmezer and in cooperation with Alanya Municipality, our Board Members are in an effort to do their part as a Chamber and personally for the completion of the list of needs requested by AFAD. As ALTSO Management, after our extraordinary meeting we held today, we held an evaluation meeting in this context with the members of our 2 committees representing the Hotel and Apart Hotel sector. If we receive a request from AFAD Authorities in these cold winter days, we are thinking of starting a study as Alanya Hoteliers. Day of unity and solidarity. Although we are heartbroken, we are determined to be with our earthquake victims as the benevolent and esteemed people of our Alanya this period.
