354

ALTSO Academy’s Personal Development Seminars in the 1st term of 2023 continued with the seminar ‘What is Trauma? The Impact of Parental Behaviour on Developmental Trauma and Solution Suggestions’.

ALTSO Vice President Yakut Nazlı Benal and many people attended the seminar held in ALTSO Conference Hall.

ALTSO Vice President Yakut Nazlı Benal, who made the opening speech of the seminar, informed the participants about ALTSO’s training activities and pointed out that they organize trainings in line with the demands of ALTSO members and citizens.

Expert Psychologist Aslı Yönet Işık, who participated in the seminar as a speaker, gave information to the participants on important issues, especially trauma.

Işık said, “We were playing with soil in the past. Now there is no such opportunity. Let’s take the phone away from children, but what is the alternative? Today, parents are under pressure. It is said, ‘My child should not be afraid’. Is it possible to live without fear today? ‘My child does not put dirty clothes in the dirty basket. He does not prepare his bag’. If you wait 5 minutes, the child will learn how to tie shoes. The child will learn self-confidence and how to deal with problems. It’s about our upbringing. The most healing aspect of trauma is contact and love. The pandemic has triggered anxiety in children. Trauma is sudden, unexpected events. The pandemic is a trauma that happened to the world. Mother’s slap on us, father’s throwing us on the couch. Developmental trauma actually covers the 0-6 age period. An unloved mother cannot love her child. The situation of the mother who said no is actually related to herself. In fact, she was raised like that by his mother.”

At the end of the seminar, ALTSO Vice President Yakut Nazlı Benal presented flowers to the speaker Işık and thanked her for her speech.
